The Minnesota Philharmonic Orchestra, the nation’s first and only GLBT community orchestra, announces a commission opportunity for composers regardless of age or nationality.
The commission is in honor of the MPO’s 10th anniversary, and will be premiered on its spring concert of 2003. (Travel expenses to the performance in the Twin Cities are not provided.)
The commissioned work is to be a lullaby scored for chamber orchestra (voice optional), of approximately 3 to 5 minutes in length. The exact definition of “lullaby” is at the discretion of the winning composer, who may also dedicate the piece to a child of his or her choice.
Commission: $1000.
