Tim Dwight is a longtime musician and organizational leader with a
deep commitment to the performing arts. He holds a B.A. in Music
Education from St. Olaf College, where he studied horn with Herb
Winslow, former Associate Principal Horn of the Minnesota Orchestra.
He performed with both the St. Olaf Orchestra and St. Olaf Band, where
he also served as Vice President.
Tim has been a member of the Minnesota Philharmonic Orchestra since
2015, currently serving as Principal Horn. In addition to his work as
a performer, he brings more than a decade of leadership experience in
global operations, organizational development, and cross-functional
program management. He received his MBA in International Business from
the Carlson School of Management in 2016, where he served as a board
member of Carlson’s LGBTQ+ Compass organization. He was also a
founding member of Jamf’s LGBTQ+ employee resource group, Proud@Jamf.
Tim currently serves as a Director of Revenue Operations at DMD
Systems, which specializes in sustainable recycling and refurbishment
of corporate IT hardware. Tim is passionate about supporting the MPO’s
artistic mission and strengthening its role in the community, and he
brings a particular interest in organizational sustainability,
inclusive leadership, and creating opportunities for musicians and
audiences to experience music as a powerful force for connection.
